introduction to music video

I have been thinking of any editing styles that would make my music video bolder and stand out. For example, myself and my group could create a 'summer sunshine/summer haze' edit, making the audience feel like they really are participating on a summers day which would fit the theme we are discussing.
Or to give a specific meaning to the mise-en-scene, we could use a 'back to the 70s' vibe, which creates ideas for costume, lighting and location.
Another idea would be to use a 'dream' effect, to give an illusion of someone being asleep or day dreaming, or possibly even a flash back.
The use of a fish eye lense/editing technique shows a ulterior meaning to our theme, making sub themes and plots to give the music video charisma and charm.
I have contemplated using varying colours in the video as well, for example making the sky a more enhanced blue if we are to make the audience believe they are fulfilling the same story as the main actor/s.
